St Peter's Church Exterior
St Peter's Church and the Holland Fountain. The fountain was erected to the memory of Edward Holland, who built the present Dumbleton Hall in 1830 and who was one of the founders of the Royal Agricultural College at Cirencester. Note the drinking troughs for horses around the fountain. The man with the horse & cart is believed to be Sam Sallis who ran a carting business.
The thatched cottage on the left no longer exists, its site is now occupied by the present Church Cottage.
A postcard of the Church, believed to date from around 1910 (kindly provided by Mr Terry Whipple)
