The Ginnal Family
Bert Grinnal's Wedding in the 1920's
A description of Bert Grinnall from Mr Malcolm White -
"Strong, thick set with craggy features and crinkly hair, Uncle Bert was perpetually sixty. Even today whenever I hear the term 'belt and braces' I picture Uncle Bert, because that is how he always was, braces over his shoulders and a big leather belt around his 'waist'. He was a very hard worker and was always gone before we arose in the morning. Of a very quiet and gentle nature.
I always knew Bert as a single person, which is tragic really. Sometimes Bert would have a spasm of coughing, which was a result of a gas attack while he was serving in the Gloucesters during WW1."
