The Estate Cottage Report of 1875 shows an Elizabeth Taylor living at cottage no. 70, a James Taylor at cottage no. 71, and a William Taylor at cottage no. 72.    The Estate Cottage Report of 1892 shows James Taylor occupying both cottages 70 and 71 while William Taylor is still living at no. 72.

On 20 February 2002 we received an e-mail from Isobel Taylor who was born in the village but is now married and living in America.   She wrote -

"My sister (Rosaleen Taylor, also born in the village) and I have been researching our ancestry, with a focus on the Sallis's as they stayed in the same area.   I began with oral history and then familysearch.org and we have visited both the Gloucester and Worcester Register Offices and the Worcestershire Archives.   It was fascinating to realize that Great-Great Grandad Joseph, father of Samuel Henry James, also lived at (cottage) #14.   Great-Great-Great Grandad Joseph was baptized in Winchcombe and we confirmed that.   We also confirmed that his parents, Richard Sallis and Ann Lea were married in Winchcombe in 1764 while living in Greet.   I have traced what seems to be the line back to Richard, son of Edward, born in Teddington in 1660.   We found the inventory of the property of Edward, who died in 1672 and he seems to have been a blacksmith.   We also obtained an inventory of the possessions of George Sallis who died intestate in Conderton in the parish of Overbury in 1607.   Teddingto was in Overbury parish at that time.    Of course, Family Search records are not complete and there were other Sallis's in Dumbleton in at least the 17th century, so we have to confirm these earlier guys.    My dad believed that we had lived in Dumbleton since 1066, based on what he was told by Rev. Collins Ashwin who had access to the records, so I think he was a bit disappointed with our results.    We'll keep working on it"
